Losing flexibility/autonomy at work always has an impact, especially if swim sessions are strictly timetabled; my commiserations! Doubly, it also means I could be up the road in a much faster bike pack in Hamburg Rolling Eyes Wink

I'll seed myself in a faster swim group, try to draft as much as possible, but get passed by quicker swimmers, and hopefully come out on the bike with the faster riders.

So I have the 4% in the post, a BS Helix on loan, just need to get a faster skinsuit sorted now, and Bob's your uncle...free speed.

Aero calf guards, Conti TT tyres, latex tubes? Bladder down your front?

I've got my eyes on a Roka, I like the Helix but my current ones is manky (and I've grown, outwards Sad).

Forget the guards, I have limits! Still on Tubs (Zipp SL Speed) but would use GP TT if on clinchers. I've already got an internal bladder thanks.

I went that far in search of mitigating my relatively weaker biking. 2.5-6W was not insignificant.

As well as a waxed chain. An extra £30 on top of normal chain price, for potentially 3-5W was actually pretty good ROI (if real).

And unlike a lot of aero gains which when added together are often less than the sum of their parts, those two should have compounded, as one was reduction in cda, and the other was reduction in drive train losses.

Who knows if they worked, but I'll take the 5:18 bike split off only 163W AP!

^^ I've put a 50T Q Ring on my new std Rotor chainset (removed the P2Max), and that has meant a subsequent improvement in chain-line as I can use the middle of the cassette more #gainz Plus of course the extra 50w from the Q Ring itself #biggainz Very Happy I have been using wax lube for a few years now #noadditionalgainz

Wax lube is very different from proper one off wax coating from what I understand

Hutch used to reckon he always put a brand new chain on for big races and it was worth 2-3 watts, he'd then stick it on a training bike.

I'd try and use it a couple of times, but a few watts here and there add up eventually.

I also used a TT LS aerosuit in 2016, over my trisuit, I think the better chamois also made it more comfortable. didn't take long to put on in T1 or take off.

Have you got a Shiv or something with the hydro bladder?

21 hours riding, no swims, 1runs.

Did the 225 yesterday in 9:50 ride time.
The days leading up were
Weds - 42 miles to lighthouse and back
Thurs - 70 to the top of Sa Calobra and back (40mph winds so didn’t descent it)
Fri - 2:20 easy cafe stop spin.
Today - 1:10 easy Z1 spin, little run off

Very happy with my pacing as I was strong finishing yesterday and even towed a group home for 10 miles into a headwind.
Less fatigue in the legs than expected.

Positive week for me. Knee is finally on the mend and I've managed 3 runs in 3 days, albeit 7k/11k/3k brick.

Managed 210K on the bike, I've only gone over that about 4 times in 2+ years.

101k today @185W AP, 199W NP.
20k lab ride on Wed @270W AP (hard going but not flat out)
78K on Easter Monday.

A few swims as well.

Just need to be careful with the knee\leg, it's improving but I can't afford to do anything stupid. Although I've got a few more massages booked in.

DIY took over for me.
The broke me.
Any exercise was hard work.

But, the house is (nearly) finished.
We are pretty impressed with our (and the tradesmen) handiwork.

Nice one PCP; glad you've had a fun week and are getting back on track after your carp start to the year.

9 hours for me. Did an 8 mile run today which although slow, was comfortable, so should get back on track with my running pretty quickly and did a quick-ish 7km earlier in the week.

2 swims- a steady 30 minutes followed by a short interval set yesterday. Don't feel like I'm making any real gains but not going backwards either. Looking forward to some open water swimming next month and that's something I never thought I'd hear myself say.

Cycling- a bit of commuting with three turbo sessions. No long ride this week.

Ticking over, not pulling up any trees but having fun. Smile

Well done PCP!

An OK week for me but my wife couldn't have planned her weekend better to prevent me from doing what I needed/wanted to training wise. No opportunity for planned long run on Saturday and ended up doing Pretzel on zwift instead of a ride out Sunday and that third short climb was tough. Hopefully will get my long run in tomorrow instead.
