I did the Brevet Cymru (405km) off the back of one 107km ride and that was it. I was fine. You just pace & fuel yourself accordingly. Having some company definitely makes a difference too.
Yes, I picked the Crowne Plaza as it doesn't involve too much transiting between the race site & hotel, which can sap needless energy on the Saturday. I actually found all the dicking around at Frankfurt with a car and the split transitions quite a nause (obv the heat exacerbated it). I fly from LHR, and will just get a taxi from the airport. Hotel was less than €70/night iirc on Expedia, and breakfast was around €8.95/day and trust me, I will get my monies' worth
ETA - it's a 2km walk to Transition from the hotel, so just over 20 min; all part of the warm-up!
There's also a 50m Oly pool a stone's throw from the hotel; ideal because I guess the lake won't be open for swimming until the weekend? (I arrive Wed evening)

Can you not get the U-bahn to save your legs?
Think they were claiming less than 100 places left earlier today.

Not sure it'll be running that early, plus a 2k walk will loosen & wake me up nicely.
Who else can I target to enter?

Fairly sure it was running pretty early for the ITU last year.
Have you get Stennard interested yet?
100 days to go apparently, I'm doomed, longest swim has been 2.4k, hardly ran for 5 weeks with injury, and longest bike so far has been ~64k. It could be an unpleasant race at this rate.

Still loads of time Jeff. I haven't done more than a 2k straight swim in the pool so far, and one ride over 100k. Longest run is 10 miles. I'm not worried, as long as I start ramping up after Easter.

After Phil’s doom and gloom on IMUK I may have looked at flights to Hamburg
you’re doing a good job of selling it but can’t justify the cost this year.

I might enter! Literally looked at this forum for first time in 18 months and have the bug back....
After a 2 yr absence from IM; scarred by the heat of IM Vichy....
If I have any talents its on the bike - I am concerned bike is too flat and there will be epic drafting
Any thoughts or feedback?

A friend who did 2017 says that there can be a headwind on the return leg on the flat section - makes sense. He says it's imperceptible in the city sections though. Whether that means there will be echelons forming, I have no idea
I'm going to be doing a lot of hours on undulating/flat A Roads in an effort to be used to the lack of 'respite' from the aero position/wind/effort.

Ibis booked, looks very close to IM Village and station.
I am thinking about taking the overnight train from Zurich
