Just ordered some Black Witch (and other bits) in prep for next season.

Just picked up an Archimedes II for £100 and also the Swimrun one for £150 as I'm doing Breca Buttermere next year.
Hopefully they last but that is super cheap for a decent wetsuit. My Blueseventy Helix is a bit too big for me now and fills up with quite a lot of water.
My friend has had an Archimedes II for 2 seasons and it is still in great nick.

I really don't need a third Archimedes II, but I absolutely love them, and at £70 for a spare, it's rather tempting!

Archimedes II arrived.
Feels flimsier than a Zone3, which was like tissue paper.
Nothing like my old Helix

I'm hoping to only wear my swimrun one once but I'd like to get more than a year out of the Archimedes if possible. Do they send gloves to put it on with like Blueseventy Helix does?

My helix was second hand - but was awesome.
Just cut your nails and use plastic bags over your hands and feet to ease it on

No, you don't get gloves. It might feel flimsy, but that's because the neoprene on the arms is so thin. I love the feeling of the arms and shoulders once on.
I genuinely don't get the horror stories of people tearing them left right and centre. I own 4 Huub wetsuits, and have just bought another grade D Archimedes II to use and extend the life of my two race suits. I had to send one Archimedes II back for a free replacement as it developed a tear on the inner lining of the neck, but that was nothing to so with whether or not the neoprene was robust.
You just have to take your time getting it on. People who can get a suit on in a couple of minutes have one too big. And it's largely the people who expect to be able to get them on that fast when they actually fit correctly that end up ripping them

Took my delivery eventually today from HUUB. They didn't have any Archimedes II left so sent me an Albacore in pretty much perfect condition.
It doesn't feel as flimsy as I expected.

They did the same with me on another occasion. I didn't get on with the Albacore. A ST Archimedes II is perfect for me. The same size Albacore was way too restrictive. It even cut the circulation off in one of my legs on one test swim. I was significantly slower in it.
I returned it and just waited for another Archimedes II.

Jeezus, imagine being able to have 4 wetsuits, and then imagine not spending that money on something bike related instead
