Do they do airport<->hotel transfers only? Or will you be sending your bike with them too?
If the former, I'd be keen to know what they quote you if you don't mind?

It's on my list this week - will let you know!

I am just about to conclude with Nirvana - and they use Shipmytribike for bike transfers.

I'm out Stansted/Bologna early Weds, Hotel Nettuno, back Monday.

Hassle getting the quote out of them - send email, if you ring they are liable to take details, say they will call you back and when you ring in a week not having heard anything they will have no details. This happened twice before I tried email...

I'll be on my jack until Friday when the OH arrives until Sunday.

Try Race force, I used them for Mallorca, fantastic group of people, very helpful had bike picked up from my house, especially as nirvana failed to pick up a friends bike, from London,

Cheers. I actually used their online chat and spoke to a very helpful guy called Ollie.
Received a quote for airport transfers only and it's pretty competitive. Price fluctuates dependent on how many in your group but looks like it could be a good option for me.

General Entry has sold out.

Just paid my £200 deposit to Nirvana, which is fine as I want to use them anyway.

#@?# I've done it now.

Game on.

First one....

I wondered this and there is a website with sea temperatures over the years.

https://www.seatemperature.org/europe/italy/cervia.htm

On a positive note those temperatures are from the surface so the dipped temperatures will be cooler Smile

From the latest IM 2017 WTC Rules:

Section 4.02 WETSUIT RULES
(a) For age-group athletes, wetsuits may be worn in water temperature up to and including 24.5 degrees C/76.1 degrees F

My guess is wetsuits allowed! Booties definitely not!

10:21 for me, solid race overall.

Swim: 1:02 - very quick swim for me, probably too quick so I suspect short or favourable tides. Enjoyed it with the lack of biff, sighting on the first loop a bit challenging.

T1: 8:08 - 0.9 miles, transition was 0.4 miles long!

Bike: 5:19
Euro draft fest, as feared. After Barca last year that's it for me with fast course Euro races, it does my nut in. I heard there were 300 cards handed out.
Course not as fast as I expected - the hill done twice was a bit harder than I thought, some stretches of road iffy. Overall a solid, conservative ride.

T2; 5:38

Run: 3:45
Pleased with this run - knee issues have meant I have missed a lot of training and my longest run since April has been 13.1 miles. I wanted to go at 8mm and see how long I went - felt great for the first half. 21-32k managed my decline well, still getting 8:20 odd a mile out. Lovely run route through the town, mostly wide roads, fair amount of shade - perhaps the nicest IM run I have done.

32k onwards was a deathmarch, but quite pleased I held off the deathmarch until then...

10:21 netted me 18th in M50, something around 9:30 was needed for KQ. Insane standard, although with the obvious caveat of wondering just how many ahead had raced honest...

Good race, Cervia gets behind it, similar to Barca in many aspects but much more interesting bike and run routes.

First IM for me.

I said before hand that I'd be happy to come in under the cut off, which was more or less what happened.

Loads of unanticipated things happened. However I made it under 16 which was the only thing to count.

Swim - seasick - who knew....
Bike - good until mile 70 when nauseous but managed to recover by drinking water.
Run - that was a long walk... I was that wide eyed walker who wanted to cry, and cry more. Totally into the dark zone and my finisher picture has me with straight arms, pulling a funny face and looking like a zombie. They captured reality well there I think.

Lessons learned. Plus it's like childbirth it all ready doesn't seem so bad Smile

I'm sure you know the answer to that.

Obviously no-one in front raced honest, even if their only sin was training harder/ being more talented:)

I was relatively late going out and passed in the opposite direction on both laps by many huge pelotons. I was also passed on the end of lap one by a group of 3 male pros about 2 metres apart.

I did see the Referees out on the bikes a lot but they didn't seem to be tackling the pelotons, there was just too much of it, although they were dealing with the 2 and 3 ups.

I heard 300 penalties too.

I found it very windy and a good draft would have made a significant difference.
