This is my wife and my 50th birthday year.
We’ve done a few things up to now but last week was kind of the culmination. I took her to Paris for a few days, she took me to our favourite place in Scotland and went white water rafting.
My mum and son looked after our 2 dogs in our house. We got home last night, greeted enthusiastically as normal by the dogs.
Within 4 hours, Bella, the older dog had gone into a diabetic coma, taken to vet hospital and didn’t come back round. We lost her. She was only 11.
We are heartbroken.
Sorry guys, just had to get that off my chest. It’s not been a good 24hours.

Thanks guys.
Having the other dog really helps but it’s still heartbreaking. She was a real wee character and my wife’s “baby”.
You think this kind of stuff would get easier as you get older.

Really sorry to hear that
I think the hardest part of pet ownership is the knowledge that you'll almost certainly outlive your faithful friends and when they go, it's like losing a close member of family. You've just got to cherish every day you have with them, as I'm sure they do.

Nothing ever makes it easier. I lost my Chocolate Lab 2 years ago at 10 years old. So sad, as ever though, time helps.
RIP your Bella.
In other sad news, I buried my best friend yesterday, aged 40. Certainly no age to go. Life really does suck sometimes - we need to make the most of it.

Yep. With you on this.
Moved to a new area, 3 weeks in we had out cat stolen (someone saw it happen). My little boy is devestated, my wife and I are numb that someone would do it and wierdly the whole situation has really kicked my motivation into touch.
I feel your pain mate.

Thanks guys.
So many of us on this post with a loss, so sad.
Funny about the motivation thing, seriously not interested in any exercise this week at all. Just walked our other dog, that's it.
