No training at all last week. Nothing. Expected a bump up in weight but had magically dropped another kg!
So... Do. Not. Train. It's a myth!

Weight loss has taken a back seat for now due to no training for a few weeks as I will knocked off my motorbike last Tuesday, lots of bruises and soft tissue damage to my right foot and right hand but luckily no broken bones!

Sorry to hear that BPS. Hope that you heal quickly.

Hope you're back on it soon BPS.
I had plateaued a bit so last week I decided to use myfitnesspal to help with not eating too many calories. Weight edging down a bit and monitoring it is helping preventing that eating because I'm bored.

Surprisingly, 74.5KG on Saturday. It was the same last Wednesday. Fairly pleased with that.

My biggest week of the year so far, and yet my weight has gone up; I need to eat less! 75.2 this morning (scratches head).

I see this too after high volume, my thoughts are that your body has taken on more water to deal with the high carb intake. Weight will drop down pretty quick if normal training/eating resumes.

The only correlation I can find for short term fluctuations is hydration. Weight is lower in the morning or immediately post exercise, and higher in the evening or if I actually remember to drink. Longer term I find appetite lags activity by a few weeks, so when training ramps up, weight falls off fairly easily at first, then it levels out as I eat more. Conversely when I reduce training load, it takes a few weeks before I stop eating all the food.

First big solid week of training and also a raise to 70.5kg, but feel pretty lean so not too worried.
I do not want to see 71:xx mind.....

Trainerroad podcast have touched on this quite a bit. Apparently to actually store higher carb volumes, it's a biological necessity to also store more water. They've hypothesised that it's another side benefit of carb loading. Not only do you have higher carb stores to fuel the exercise, but you also have a higher volume of water in the body to release as sweat, etc, decreasing the chances of dehydration.
At least, that's what I've taken away from some of their episodes where Nate's carb loading has been discussed in some depth.

So nothing to do with weekend beer, wine, G&T, chocolate or crisps then? Phew.

Nope, not at all. The same as my 2kg weight increase prior to my race Sunday was nothing to do with the three consecutive days of three course meals that came about as a result of various different groups getting together for my gfs birthday.
Three before the race. Three!

Into uncharted waters now, dropped below 72kg (71.7kg) for first time in 30 years. getting below 72kg has been an invisible barrier that I can't break, so now that is off my back
I can now drop my Zwift weight down to 72kg (my wife thinks I am mad)
