Looking for something different to ironman?
This is it. Continuous Sw1m, Bike, Run format on both Sat & Sun. Piggybacking off two of the largest triathlons in the world, and with loads of atmos and buzz from all that entails of a big event.
In the previous 4 years it's just been 20 odd lucky competitors and an instant sell out. I've been lucky enough to win it once, and come 3rd and 4th.
Well now entry numbers have been expanded, and there's currently a May Day bank holiday weekend bonus of 25% off , ENTER DISCOUNT CODE: MAYDAY18, of unspecified end date so don't dally.
This format really is recommended, tremendous fun, and a whole new amazing endurance Tri experience, with it's own unique set of strategy and techniques to master.
It's fab value at full price of £200 (especially compared to £100 ish for solo sprint entries, which sell out anyway!) so at a discounted £150 it's a snip.
Only two atherleets have ever managed 9 Sprints in the weekend, and that's with the (easier current) rolling format. The tough target for most is 8, which was really tough when you were forced to catch the specific start waves like in the first 3 years.
It's a magic format, has to be experienced.
And at Blenheim, what a venue and course.
It's a tough course (which is good!), and whereas a regular Sprint may take you an hour if your lucky, this would be equiv of ~1h10 at Blenheim.
Point to point sw1m.
Lairy entertaining bike course, quite thrilling in sections tbh, especially when it's full of newbies (who theoretically keep to the left... )
An up and down run, with plenty of opportunity to run on the grass if you prefer, like me (better for avoiding harsh impact and consequent sore muscles for the whole 2 days.)
Blenheim: June 2nd & 3rd 2018

I've only seen London on telly so can't comment, but I'm entered as WW for both. 4-5th August 2018

Struggling to fill the WW places? I wonder, if that's the case, whether they'll reduce the number of spaces next year? I'm thinking of doing WW at both next year. A discount is always welcome, but I'll have to consider whether I need to get in early to avoid missing out, or if it will be safe to hang on for any potential discount.

Similar. It's something I've always wanted to do, and if the dates worked out a little differently I'd jump on this offer. But as it is, I'm already racing on the date of Blenheim, and the London one is too close to my first full IM

Has anyone done the London WW and what was it like? Ive done every Blenheim WW up to now but can't do it this year and am thinking about doing London instead. I'm just not sure that two days racing in London has the same appeal as two days in the beautiful grounds at Blenheim.

cant be as good as Blenheim, can it? But still bound to be good as the format is great, so I'm giving London a go to see what it's like, as it doesn't clash for me for once.

Sounds fun but it’s my daughters first birthday the weekend of the Aug 4th, and I’m racing on July 7th

Start list and wave times for London are out.
54 competitors
Looking at the wave starts, it looks like two olys and a super sprint are
possible on Saturday.
Sunday looks trickier to get max distance.
If you do the Oly plus then you might not be able to get out again before the elites, but you could in theory do two olys
Got any advice TC?

bugger! is that all we can do
Not half as good as Blenheim then, and that was emasculated to only 7x Sprints feasibly possible this year

Ta. if you aren't sh1t, how long do you guesstimate an Oly takes on this course? (At Blenheim the Sprint is long and hilly thus 1h25-30 is quite normal for me etc.)
