i'm chiswick, west london and do my training in Richmond park

I'm in East Molesey (near Hampton Court Palace). Will be up for some rides into the Surrey hills. I only rarely go to Richmond Park - too busy and car drivers stopping in the middle of the road to look at the cute fluffy deer piss me right off!

i know what you mean mate, can get pretty hectic up there. Even the police have occasionally taken to stopping cyclists for speeding!!! I get there sometimes at stupid o'clock before the gates open and its superb without the cars. I'd be up for some surrey hills rides later in the year, my mate trains down that way, in fact he lives in hampton, could also drag him out for a mini peloton

So eight of us so far. That's not bad.
Think I'd struggle to meet up for any training rides with you guys living
up here in the Scottish Borders.

Oh Oh Oh add me!

Me and a mate are going to go and take a couple of motor homes, wives, kids, dogs, the full 9 yards! My two are already training for the Ironkids stuff Smile

Now, where did I put my bike?
Shocked

My daughter will be 6 next year and was gutted to find that IM France Ironkids racing is 8+

Glad to hear there are more going! Are the motorhomes yours or are you renting?

Did Ironman Austria in 2008, then took a year off so the good lady could have a proper holiday? I thought watching the ironman was a proper holiday but perhaps not.

So the plan now is to tackle IM France.

Gives me a year to sort out the swimming, have the propulsive power of a piece of driftwood, and it's the sea-magic!! Sad

Looking foward to the journey that is Ironman and sharing thoughts, trials and tribulations.

All the best everyone and roll on June 27th.

Very tempted to do France next year, anyone know how quickly this one usually fills up?
Also how does the bike course compare to Lanza, any ideas?

900 metres less climbing, but it is hotter.
A lot of the climbing is at the front end, and you get a long downhill and flat last 30 ish miles

So I think the bike course is slightly easier, less wind but more heat.

COme ond join us, there are a few of us so far Smile
