...and I need a jacket to see me through winter training. Here's my criteria:
1. Suitable for running, cycling and Adventure Racing
2. Waterproof
3. Breathable
4. £50 ish
5. Looks cool
anyone any ideas?

Decathlon did an excellent winter jacket with a longer flap at the back to protect yer bottom. Gore tex, so breathable, and waterproof.
Got mine for £60 but can't remember the name - it was blue, if that's any help!

| will have a look tonight - but decathlon is one off those places where you go in tonight and there is loads off gear and go at the weekend and there is nothing!!!

Bin liner with hole for head and arms.
Cost, free from council
100% waterproof and windproof
venting can be custom made.
Either baggy or tight fit with the use of tape.
Easy wipe clean.
Choice of trendy 'bling' colours, black, green,yellow. More if you look around.

Waterproof, breathable and £50. You are going to struggle. Most cheaper jackets can have a quite high waterproof rating but the breath-ability will be average. The decathlon jackets in that price range will have a hh rating of 10K which will keep out heavy rain for a few hours. But eh breathability is RET=6 which is average (note Decathlon use RET scale as its easier to make it look better than an absolute value).
If you can stretch your budget further and they have your size, SportShoes.com currently have the Montane Minimus jacket with 40% off. This has the highest waterproof rating 20K and very good breathability of 25,000g/m2/25hrs
For running I tend not to bother with a waterproof (unless you are heading up into the fells then its sensible). No matter how good the jacket I sweat more than can escape and end up soaked. I just focus on keeping warm. Merino base layers are very good for this as they keep you warm when wet.

Perhaps in 2004 you could've picked up breathable & waterproof for under £50  .
