I've just experienced my first nail biting GCSE Results Day as a parent. I was trying to be cool but was desperate to know. My son seemed particularly chilled and lay in bed until after 10am and only got up when he was hassled by his Mum! In the end he phoned the school. Relief at last.

And yes, he did OK. (is 5 A*, 5 A and 1 B OK?)

My son did pretty well but one of his mates was given £1,200 as a reward for his results.

Call me old fashioned but.......

We did offer some financial incentives, yes, but £1200? Holy cow Batman, nowhere near that amount.

MrsTed's group got 98% a-c grades with pretty much all achieving over their assertive mentoring grade
For a school like hers, tough and low in aspirations, it's a great result Cool
