Any thoughts on these dual sided ones?
They seem decent for <£600 and garner better reviews than the Garmin Vector ones.
The review from 2017 in Cycling Weekly seems pretty good.

It's a long term review, too, but I can't find any negative reviews on them?
The issue of them not starting for crits and TTs concerns me, as I'd like to be able to see the power for a triathlon and not to worry about whether or not they kick in...

I have been looking at pedals quite a lot but have not yet pulled the pin.
I have narrowed it down to Vector 3's or the Faveros.
The Vector 3's seem to get a bad rep but after death by review I believe the issue is electrical corrosion between the two batteries that only occurs when they are user installed batteries. They now advise a bit of grease between the batteries & you can also get double size single batteries.
The Faveros are obviously a bit cheaper but don't look as good with the pod thing.

My last few FTP tests have all been in the 49/51 range, so my L/R balance is pretty much bang on (one FTp test was 50%/50%, PES LL 70 and PES RL 70)
Due to that, I'm thinking of single sided being the way to go...
...same as you, I've heard (first hand) of terrible Vector things. Their customer service also seems bad, compared to favourable stories I've heard for Assioma and PowerTap (who have had great reviews since their hub came out yonks ago)

The 'pods' on the Favero Assioma are pretty unobtrusive tbh, especially if you use a dark coloured crank. They offer a lot more cornering clearance than the P1.
Surely one 'pulls the trigger' not the pin? The pin makes a lot of mess

I have finally done it!
Ordered the P1S, as my left/right leg have been pretty balanced throughout all my WattBike sessions.
I'm not going to be doing any mad cornering on the TT bike, or criterium racing, so the clearance isn't an issue (he says...)
The orange bolt also goes with my orange detailing on the bike, so...ha ha ha

cornering clearance isnt an issue, I use them on a 43 degree banked velodrome with no issues.
P1's for over 3 years now and not one issue. Not sure what more i could add, except they just work. Tricky has them for about the same length of time as me and believe his experiences mirror mine.

It was a close call for me - I was close on the Assioma's...but could not find a bad word about the P1S (only the weight, but there easier ways to save 200g)

50%/50% according to WattBike...
...anyways, piece of pie to set up. Cleats are weird, no satisfying click once in.
They don't feel massively heavy.
They produced a number on my Garmin, so that's good, yes?
It took me far longer to put the bloody XLab Turbo Wing on.
Yes, I went out in full on triafferlete mode, with deep wheels (no tw4t hat, though)

Oh, btw Poet. Why aren't you posting under your original login? You earned all those posts, what's the point of sitting on 9999 and starting-over? I know there was a 'trend' for that 10 years ago on here.
