This is my wife and my 50th birthday year.

We’ve done a few things up to now but last week was kind of the culmination. I took her to Paris for a few days, she took me to our favourite place in Scotland and went white water rafting.

My mum and son looked after our 2 dogs in our house. We got home last night, greeted enthusiastically as normal by the dogs.

Within 4 hours, Bella, the older dog had gone into a diabetic coma, taken to vet hospital and didn’t come back round. We lost her. She was only 11.

We are heartbroken.

Sorry guys, just had to get that off my chest. It’s not been a good 24hours.

Cheers buddy.

You're a 50 year old adult. It's a pet. I get that it's sad. Posting on a forum? C

Harsh.
seconded.

Some of us humans develop very close bonds with our pets, who, and lets be honest here, can make better friends than fellow humans. Animals won’t lie to you or cheat you. They provide companionship, comfort, and for many someone to talk to.

I am more of a cat person than a dog person, but I get it. roscoemck you know what I am talking about. Treasure your memories. Enjoy what you currently have.
