Hi

Could someone help with a few questions i have on the lakesman. I have a spot for the half and looking to book accommodation soon. I have a young family so we might look at staying at center parcs and travelling to kewsick on race day. Has anyone else done this?

Is the race registration the day before?
Race briefing the night before?
Is Race briefing mandatory attendance?
Do you need to rack the bike the night before?
Is there plenty parking near T1?
What time did the half swim start last year?

Thanks

Hi Barryc
I did lakesman half this year, I still have the 2018 athlete race guide on my laptap, happy to send it to you if you send me your email address.

I stayed in B and B in keswick for long weekend so parked nearby on roadside.

A brilliant event, great organisation, great course and lots of very enthusiastic marshals.

Travelling from Centre Parcs will take 40 mins each way. It's about 20 miles. There is an 'official' event car park that for £15.00 allows you to park Saturday and Sunday all day. This is a 20 minute walk from T1/2. I used it this year but probably wouldn't again, it's a bit too far and there is a large car park only 5 minutes walk away which, at 5am was virtually empty on race morning.
You will absolutely love this race. It's one of triathlons best kept secrets. Forget all the hype about other high profile races...this is the real deal. You'll be blown away by the course, spectators, marshals and above all value for money.

Currently looking for 2019 events Idea added this to my list to chose from. Any danger of it selling out?

I’m in....be interesting to do a long distance that’s not IM brand. Booked a B&B within walking distance

In to week 4 of training plan and dropping some weight already. Hoping we get some decent weather in the build up for the long bike sessions as it’s a bit earlier than I usually race.

Reviews I read are impressive.
