Would have been the lithium battery itself burning fiercely. There's been the odd battery fire on e- racing motorbikes, which couldn't be controlled and were left to run their course. Much bigger battery, perhaps 100kg, and quite a spectacular demise.

Yes, whoever wrote that has obviously never heard of CO2 fire extinguishers
