I seem to recall that Mold Tri has a pretty nasty climb on it ? Brings you out at the top of the Sunspot I think ?? We bumped into all these girls in swimsuits on bikes one sunday last year and had to follow them back to the source. Smile

I'm Dave, turning 50 this year and felt the need to get a lot fitter. Started using a wheelchair 2 years ago and did my first 5k last summer so decided to take things a bit further. I found out there's a disability friendly triathlon running this summer so thought I'd set myself the challenge of taking part. It's not too extreme being 400m swim, 10k handcycle and 2.5k push but ok for a start, esp as I'll be doing the swim without using my legs

Welcome Dave! I hope that you get some useful tips from the forum. Don't be afraid to ask questions here; a lot of people lurk without doing so, but nothing ventured....

Hi everyone, I'm new to triathlon, wanting to do a sprint triathlon next year as it's a milestone birthday for me. Have been running on and off (more off!) Over the last 5 years. More a plodder , I am a reasonable swimmer (breaststroke only) and have started commuting to work on bike, so thought why not! Currently looking at getting a secondhand wetsuit so I can have a go at open water swimming this summer.

Hi All!
I've finally joined TriTalk!
Fairly long time triathlete (first go in 2006), based in the Cotswolds and loving the tri scene
This year I've also got into YouTube. You can find my channel where I've covered some local (to me!) events and a few features too: https://www.youtube.com/user/triathlonmatt703
All the best,
Matt

Hi all, I'm Duane from High Littleton near Bath. Completed my first tri last Sunday - lake 62 end of season standard distance and loved it so wanted to speak to some like-minded people on here.
Happy Friday all!

Afternoon,
After breaking my arm playing rugby last year, it seems apparent that regular competetive rugby is no longer an option for someone approaching 50 fast, so a gym friend has talked me in to this triathlon thing.
never been an endurance type, so really struggling with many facets of tri, but enjoying the challenges.
did my first sprint tri in September in St Helens after 2 weeks of training (never swam more than a few tens of metres in a single swim prior to this). Finished in a reasonably respectable time, and now want to go back next year and completely smash that time!
Rugby has taken its toll on my knees, so I am sticking with sprint distance for now, as 5k running is just about manageable, and looking for some sprint events to aim for in 2018, any pointers very much appreciated.
so there you go, not so brief intro.
Cheers,
Pete
