Notice that he was a member of Army Tri Team, I imagine that this incident will not go down too well with the Army

I think the "lifetime triathlon ban" was imposed by Human Race on their events too.

I was wondering what this actually meant... I guess TE could refuse membership but they don't go around vetting entrants to events or day licenses ?!

Think its just from HR events. If not bloody harsh for one moment of madness and idiocy.

Blokes an idiot but that fine (whatever way its broken down) is a lot more than most car drivers would get for a dangerous pass. They would generally get a stern talking to, note to file or a driver awareness course.

Yeah my point was that the headlines called it a lifetime ban from triathlon... which it sounds like it isn't.

I think there was a load of cyclists, but I assume the one that they prosecuted was the one that overtook on the inside and made contact with the horse/rider.

There were two "undertakers" in the video, the one that hit the horse/rider has been prosecuted and banned from Human Race events for life. The other didn't make contact, got a 12month ban, but I'm not sure has been prosecuted.
